Customer complaint: Maytag Gas dryer not drying clothes.
Testing included running dryer and verified unit was heating and vent exhaust run was clear.
After 10 minutes unit was still operating normally and heating properly.
I continued to test unit by restarting and stopping to verify that unit would re-light and heat. As suspected the gas valve coils located on top of the gas valve would fail as they warmed up from normal operation. In this case the secondary coil winding would open. This could be verified by taking an OHM reading with my multi meter across the two terminals. When warm the meter indicated no continuity and as the coil cooled the meter would indicate continuity.
Replacing both coils (part # 279834 contains both coils) solved the problem.
